40 people have died in Scotland from coronavirus - an increase of seven overnight.

The number of confirmed cases has risen to 1245.

A total of 13,133 Scottish tests have concluded, of which 11,888 tests were confirmed negative.

Earlier, Scottish Secretary Alister Jack confirmed he is self-isolating after experiencing mild coronavirus symptoms.

Scotland is still on lockdown and Scots are being reminded to follow the new regulations.

We are advised not to leave our homes unless to shop for essentials, to take exercise once a day, for medical reasons, to care for a vulnerable person or to travel to essential work if that cannot be done at home.

The lockdown was announced by Boris Johnson and Nicola Sturgeon on Monday.

Sturgeon said: "These measures are essential for the protection of others.

"Coronovirus this is the biggest challenge of our lifetime and  measures we take to tackle it must reflect the magnitude of that.

"These measures are essential to slow down the spread of this virus. They are essential to reduce the peak impact of it.
