The Scottish Government has confirmed a further 39 people have sadly died from coronavirus across Scotland.
The grim statistic was announced this afternoon alongside figures which show 1,596 new covid-19 cases.
602 of the 1,596 cases have been recorded in the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde region, with 368 in Lanarkshire.
According to the latest government numbers, 1,245 people are in hospital in Scotland with covid-19, with 106 in intensive care:
- 1,596 new cases of COVID-19 reported
- 39 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive
- 106 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19
- 1,245 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19
- 29,644 new tests for COVID-19 that reported results – 6.3% of these were positive
