2,137 new covid cases have been reported across the country, the Scottish Government confirmed.
The figure accounts for 10.8% of the 21,451 undertaken since the last update.
Today's number is over 400 fewer that yesterday's figure of 2,539, with Nicola Sturgeon having in the last 24 hours described the recent surge in cases as 'worryingly high'.
The Scottish Government this afternoon advised:
- 2,137 new cases of COVID-19 reported
- 21,451 new tests for COVID-19 that reported results – 10.8% of these were positive
The government have confirmed they will not be updating the remaining covid figures between January 1 and 4.
