Coronavirus Scotland: 13 more Scots die from virus as death toll reaches 1,262

1,262 Scots have now died from coronavirus in Scotland, an increase of 13 since Sunday.

There have been 10,521 confirmed cases of the deadly virus, an increase of 197.

There are 134 Scots with confirmed or suspected coronavirus currently in intensive care units.

A total of 1,762 are in hospital with confirmed or suspected cases of the virus, an increase of 27.

She also revealed since March 5, a total of 2,380 who tested positive and were being treated in hospital have been allowed to go home after beating the virus.

The Scottish Government confirmed the figures on Monday.

It comes as The Sunday Mail  today revealed the First Minister missed a total of six Cobra meetings to discuss coronavirus.

However, a Scottish Government spokesperson said: “The Scottish Government has been represented at all Cobra ministerial meetings on coronavirus that we have been invited to. We often receive only limited advance notice of such meetings.”

Boris Johnson marked his first day back to work with a statement outside Downing Street this morning.

The Prime Minister had been off work as he continued to recover from coronavirus.

He encouraged the public to remain patient as the lockdown will continue.
