Coronavirus Scotland: 1246 new positive cases with 192 in Lothian

Nicola Sturgeon has today announced that a further 1246 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the last 24 hours.

The figure represents 16.2% of new tests.

A total of 37,033 cases have now been confirmed by testing throughout the epidemic in Scotland.

192 of the new positive tests were in the Lothian area - where new lockdown restrictions are set to come in at 6pm tonight.

As of 6pm tonight all licenced premises in Lothian will be forced to close for at least two weeks.

The First Minister also announced that six people have died in the last 24-hour period in Scotland bringing the total number of deaths to 2544.

397 people are currently being treated in hospital with six in intensive care - up 20 in a day.

33 in intensive, up 2 from yesterday.
