Coronavirus Scotland: 1,115 new cases and three further deaths

There have been 1,115 new coronavirus cases recorded in Scotland in the last 24 hours - this accounts for 7.3 per cent of newly tested patients.

There are 1,245 people in Scottish hospitals with confirmed Covid-19 and 119 receiving treatment in intensive care - an increase of 13.

Three deaths have also sadly been reported in the past 24 hours.

There has now been 17,229 new tests for COVID-19 and 7.3 per cent of these were positive.

According to Public Health Scotland, there have been 414 confirmed cases of the bug reported in Edinburgh over the last seven days.

The news comes as data from King College London estimated that Covid cases in Edinburgh have plummeted by thousands in the last week.

The data estimates that there are currently around 3,799 cases of Covid based on analysis of public health and symptoms submitted by the population.
