The majority of Liverpool’s wards still have coronavirus rates over 500 cases per 100,000 people as restrictions are eased.
The city’s overall coronavirus rate was 500.8 cases per 100,000 people as of July 16.
With 2,494 cases recorded in the week up to that date, infection levels appear to be continuing to flatten out.

However, hospitalisations for Covid-19 are rising, with 97 admitted to hospitals in the city for Covid-19 last week.
It comes as legal restrictions are lifted across England on what has been dubbed “Freedom Day”.
Limits on capacity in some venues, mask requirements and social distancing rules are all being lifted even though some areas of the country have very high infection rates.
It is hoped the end of the school term will help slow the spread of the virus, though scientists expect the lifting of restrictions to boost them further.
They continue to urge people to exercise caution and government advice remains that if you are in a crowded place and cannot socially distance then you should wear a mask.
People are also being urged to take up the vaccine if they have not done so already.
