A GP surgery in Peebles has announced that a member of staff tested has tested positive for coronavirus.
Hay Lodge Hospital & Health Centre, which includes The Tweed Practice and Neidpath Surgery, has warned patients not to come to the practice as of today (16 March).
No further details of are known about the staff member who tested positive for the virus but other workers at the practice are also said to be self-isolating.
In a statement, Hay Lodge Hospital & Health Centre said: "Unfortunately, we have had to take a decision over the weekend, in the interest of prioritising our resources to the vulnerable and sick, to institute a number of significant changes.
"This is the result of a member of staff testing positive for coronavirus and others self-isolating."
"As of this morning, (Monday), PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THE SURGERY IN PERSON."
"We very much regret the requirement to undertake these measures, and recognise the inconvenience this will cause. We are grateful to our patients for their understanding and assistance at a challenging time", the practice added.
The health centre insists that positive test result does not have any implications for patients who have been in contact with the surgery over the last week.
Two worshippers who attend mosques in Edinburgh have also reportedly tested positive for COVID-19.
