Coronavirus outbreak confirmed at Bulwell school

A number of staff members and pupils are in self-isolation after a coronavirus outbreak at Bulwell Academy.

Staff of the academy, Squires Avenue, confirmed the news in a statement on the school's website.

It read: "We have been made aware today that we have a number of confirmed positive cases of coronavirus (Covid-19) at The Bulwell Academy.

"As a result, we have followed national guidance and identified those students and staff who were in close contact with those who tested positive. The identified students and staff are now self-isolating."

More than 100 schools have now been affected by Covid-19 in Nottinghamshire.

It comes after the Government announced all of county is set to be placed under Tier 3 restrictions when the national restrictions ends on December 2.
