Coronavirus outbreak at Falkirk based Cash & Carry as staff self-isolate

A number of workers have tested positive for coronavirus at a food wholesaler depot in Grangemouth.

It is understood at least six members of staff have been sent home to self-isolate after an outbreak at United M9 Cash & Carry in the town.

Health bosses say Test and Trace is well underway and an investigation into the outbreak has started.

A deep clean has taken place at the site.

A spokesperson for United M9 Cash & Carry said: "The welfare and safety of our staff and customers during the Pandemic is of huge importance to us.

"Following the positive COVID-19 test from a member of staff on Monday, we followed the stringent NHS Test and Trace protocols for our staff and engaged with all relevant authorities.

"As part of our commitment to operating in a responsible way during the Pandemic we also undertook bio fogging throughout the depot to provide further safety for our staff and customers."
