Off Licenses and shops across a Dublin town are deferring the sale of alcohol until later on St Patrick's Day at the recommendation of local gardai.
Multiple businesses around Lucan are delaying the sale of alcohol until later in the day tomorrow, while others are closing entirely.
A local Londis said they will only be open from 9am to 7pm tomorrow, with alcohol being available from 12.30pm until closing.
They added they'd be back to normal hours from Wednesday 18th March.
Kennys of Lucan has decided to close for the day after receiving the recommendation to defer the opening of their off licence.
They said: "On the back of a request from the local Gardai to defer the opening of our Off Licence tomorrow we have decided to close for the day Tuesday 17th March.
"Unfortunately this means we won't be in a position to offer our takeaway menu for the day.
"Thanks for your continued support."
