A nurse has shared a heartbreaking letter she found tucked away under her daughter's pillow, which shares the eight-year-old's fears about her mum catching coronavirus.
Samantha Bowler, from Coventry, West Mids, discovered the note written by daughter Roxy while checking on her at night.
The sweet note also shares her worries that her 40-year-old dad might be affected by the virus - because he's 'old'.
The 35-year-old staff nurse from Coventry, West Midlands, said she was previously unaware about her daughter's concerns.
She said: "It just melted my heart to be honest. I just felt sad for her that she was so worried about it.
"I wanted to reassure after I read it and tried to find out what she'd heard about the virus at school.
"She said she'd heard lots of stories and asked if people were going to be arrested if they went out if they had the virus.
"I told her we have to take it all day by day."
The letter reads: "Coronavirus...I am worried about my mum and dad.
"I am scared for my mum because she is a nurse and she could get it.
"My dad is old, trying to say it in a nice way.
"By Roxy
"Help me fight back."
Dad Stephen said that he found the note after he went up to check on Roxy and her sister Phoenix, 5.
He said: "I went to check on her and she had just fallen asleep I think.
"The note was left on her pillow right by her head.
"I picked it up and had a look. When I read it it brought on some mixed emotions.
"I was sad she was worried about it and then I laughed because she thought I was old."
Samantha added: "Roxy is a real thinker. She leaves lots of little notes around for us.
"She naturally worries about things but hadn't really said anything about it to us.
"She's quite sensitive and very caring.
"She's very kind and has a quiet confidence about her.
"Finding this letter just melted my heart."
