Coronavirus Nothern Ireland: Co Down hotel offers elderly neighbours free dinners delivered to their home

The owners of a Co Down hotel are offering their elderly neighbours free dinners delivered to the door in the wake of the Coronavirus crisis.

With many unable to get to the supermarket and much of the good they needs, being sold out, the team at the Portaferry Hotel have stepped in to help.

A message from the Arthurs family was posted on Facebook, saying: "We appreciate that for some of our elderly neighbours it will not be possible to get to a supermarket or restaurant.

"We want you to know we are here to help.

"Call us before 1pm on 028 4272 8231 and order a meal. We will deliver dinner to you that evening - there is no charge for food or delivery."
