Coronavirus Northern Ireland: Watch as North Belfast football kids show support to NHS staff

Young players from a North Belfast football club have shown their support to the NHS during the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

The Wee Macs, officially known as St Malachy's OB Youth FC, were formed in 2015 and provide football coaching for boys and girls.

They recorded a video sending their support to all the health workers who are helping combat the threat of Covid-19.

They have also been spreading the key message 'Stay At Home'.

It comes after Prime Minister Boris Johnson told the public to isolate for the next 12 weeks to help prevent the spread of coronavirus.

"We thought we would show our support to all the wonderful health workers out there who are doing such a brilliant and important job right now," said Wee Macs chairperson Gary Vernon.

"We also wanted to urge everyone out there to be sensible and stay at home during this health crisis.

"These are unprecedented times that require unprecedented measures, but we need everyone on board if we are to get through this."
