A nurse working on the Coronavirus ward in the Ulster Hospital was left speechless tonight as she appeared live on The One Show.
Amanda Laing, from Belfast, thought she was being connected to a family quiz on Skype when she appeared on TV with presenters Alex Jones and Gethin Jones.
Organised by fiancé Ryan, Amanda was treated to a free Domino's Pizza for dinner from The One Show as a thank you token for her work on the frontline during the current pandemic.
And she was presented with a video montage of her mum and work colleagues who came together to thank her for her hard work.
In the video mum Muriel said: "She'll do 13 hour shifts on the ward and then come home to her fiancé and the two children and cares for them and still keeps that huge smile on her face, which is the Amanda trademark."
