Coronavirus Northern Ireland: Ulster and Ireland rugby star sends out strong message on Covid-19

Ulster and Ireland rugby star Claire McLaughlin has called on everyone to play their part in the fight against coronavirus.

The Irish international is also a doctor at the Ulster Hospital A&E department.

In a powerful message to the public, Claire says people can become "part of the solution" by following the government guidelines on preventing the spread of Covid-19.

"Over the past couple of weeks we have definitely seen an increase in the number of patients coming to the A&E with symptoms of Covid-19," she said.

"As I am sure you are aware, there is no cure for this. There are only certain supportive measures we can provide, but we don't have a solution.

"You can be part of the solution.

"As healthcare workers in the NHS we are not the frontline. You out there in the community are the frontline.

"You have the ability to reduce the spread of this virus. And you can do that with your actions and follow the government guidance that has been given."
