Coronavirus Northern Ireland: Seven more deaths confirmed due to Covid-19

The latest Public Health figures show that seven more people have sadly died after testing positive for Coronavirus in Northern Ireland.

As of 11.15am on April 6, 70 patients have passed away after contracting the disease.

A further 69 confirmed cases were also announced by the Public Health Agency, who said that so far 8,740 tests have been carried out across Northern Ireland.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases stands at 1,158.

The announcement was made as Arlene Foster and Michelle O’Neill delivered the latest update from separate locations.

The First Minister said the next two weeks are crucial because of the expected surge.

“It is essential in this critical period that we do not relax our guard, especially in the lead-up to and during the Easter period,” she said.

She also thanked those adhering to social distancing measures and washing their hands.
