Coronavirus Northern Ireland: Paddy Raff has a serious message

The Department of Health has backed Northern Ireland comic Paddy Raff’s bid to get us all to keep our distance.

Paddy’s BT9 alter-ego Nigel has expressed outrage at people failing to adhere to public health guidelines, adding that even his Malone Road pals are having to make sacrifices like doing ‘pre drinks’ via Skype.

A video message tweeted by Paddy has been retweeted by the Department with the message ‘Nigel gets it’.

They add: “Warning: This video might just possibly contain some strong language. Whatever way you say it - #StayAtHome #FightBack #WashYourHands #KeepYourDistance #JoinTheFightBack.”

Out for a spin with the Police’s Don’t Stand So Close To Me on the radio, Nigel says he’s “up to high doh with the amount of people not taking this pandemic thing seriously enough”.

He warns we should all stay at home, or, “if you’re from BT9, stay at one of your homes”, wash your hands and keep your distance.
