Coronavirus Northern Ireland: No further deaths and 187 new cases recorded by DoH

No further coronavirus related deaths have been reported by the Department of Health.

According to the DoH's latest update, the death toll from coronavirus in Northern Ireland remains at 2,155.

Tuesday's dashboard also reports a further 187 positive cases of Covid-19 since yesterday, bringing the total number of positive cases to 125,084 since the start of the pandemic.

They also announced that a total of 1,960,401 vaccines have been administered in Northern Ireland to date.

Over the past seven days, the Department said 1,122 individuals have tested positive.

There are currently 13 Covid-19 confirmed inpatients in hospital with none in intensive care.

Earlier today, Health Minister Robin Swann set out all the ways testing can help keep people safe from Covid-19.

Mr Swann said: "Alongside vaccination and contact tracing, testing is one of the main pillars of protection against the virus.

"A number of different COVID-19 testing services are available in Northern Ireland and I would encourage people to make use of these services as required and as appropriate.

"By doing so, we can help keep each other safe and play our part in helping society return to normality."

Covid-19 testing services include PCR tests, for people with symptoms, and the more rapid Lateral Flow Device tests.

Minister Swann emphasised the importance of symptomatic testing, adding: “I would urge everyone with symptoms to get a PCR test, to co-operate and work with our Contact Tracing service if they receive a positive PCR test result, and to self-isolate immediately if they develop symptoms.”
