Coronavirus Northern Ireland: Nine further deaths reported by DoH

A further nine people have died having tested positive for Covid-19, the Department of Health has confirmed.

According to the latest dashboard update on Sunday afternoon, seven of the latest fatalities occurred in the last 24 hours, whilst the remaining two deaths happened outside of this time period.

Northern Ireland's death toll due to the virus now stands at 1,931 according to DoH figures.

The latest update also indicates that a further 334 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

Over the last seven days, NI has recorded 3,015 positive cases of the virus.

At present, there are 585 Covid-19 inpatients in hospitals across Northern Ireland. 66 of those patients are in ICU, and 57 are on ventilators.

Care Homes in Northern Ireland currently have 98 confirmed active cases of Covid-19, that's a decrease in 29 cases in the last seven days.
