Coronavirus Northern Ireland: Local musicians hosting online music festival to raise funds for communities in need

Musicians are bringing their talents online this afternoon, in an online music festival to raise money and keep spirits high during the ongoing health pandemic.

Over 20 local musicians will be performing live from their living rooms at 4pm on Saturday, organised by West Belfast group Foodstock in a bid to raise funds for the vulnerable during the COVID-19 crisis.

The Foodstock group consists of a series of musical events taking place across Belfast each year with an aim to support local food banks and organisations who provide lifelines for those struggling.

In an appeal for musicians to join in on the online stream, Foodstock said: "Join us on Saturday and be entertained by some incredible musicians performing live from their homes, and help us raise funds to support those in need during the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.

"And if you are a musician, why not get involved too? Get in touch!"

For more information on how to get involved or to watch the stream, visit the Foodstock Facebook page.
