Coronavirus Northern Ireland latest figures broken down by area and age

Coronavirus related deaths in Northern Ireland rose to 523 today as sadly one further fatality was reported.

The Sunday report issued by the Department of Health states that the latest patient to pass away after contracting the virus was aged 40-59 and it was reported in Derry City and Strabane council area.

According to the latest figures, 538 inpatients are currently in 19 hospital sites across NI with confirmed or suspected Coronavirus. That's an increase of ten inpatients since yesterday.

87 of those patients have confirmed Coronavirus while the other 451 inpatients are being treated for suspected Covid-19.

Eight people here remain in ICU with confirmed or suspected Covid-19.

A further seven positive tests have also been reported here for the illness with 924 individuals tested in the last 24 hours.

In addition to that, 366 samples have also been gathered at National Testing Centres across the country.

The latest seven positive cases have been recorded in: Ards and North Down (1), Belfast (2), Fermanagh and Omagh (1), Lisburn and Castlereagh (2),

As it stands, Northern Ireland has recorded 4,716 cases of Coronavirus with the virus claiming the lives of 523 people.

307 deaths have been recorded in hospitals here, 184 in care homes, 16 in the community and a further 16 not recorded.
