Coronavirus Northern Ireland: Latest figures breakdown, as reported by Department of Health

The Department of Health has today reported a rise in positive cases of Covid-19 here by 39.

This increase, as of 10am on Monday August 17, brings the total number of cases in Northern Ireland to 6,430.

And today, the DoH also announced that there were no reported deaths relating to the virus over the weekend of August 15 and 16.

The death toll stands at 558, according to the Department.

Looking at recent positive cases of the virus further, there have been 302 confirmed in the last seven days, according to the Department's daily dashboard.

By Local Government District, in the last week there have been a total of 73 positive cases reported in the Mid and East Antrim area, 71 in Belfast and 41 in Antrim and Newtownabbey.

The remaining positive cases were recorded in the following LGDs:

In terms of hospital admissions, there have been 1,538 so far and at present there are two inpatients who have tested positive for Covid-19.

A total of 1,520 patients with confirmed Coronavirus have been discharged from hospital care, the figures show.

The Department also reports no Covid-19 inpatients in ICU at present.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 179,423 individuals have had lab completed tests for Coronavirus.
