Coronavirus Northern Ireland: Full breakdown shows 43 new positive cases in past 24 hours

There have been no further Coronavirus deaths today according to the Department of Health.

Figures released today show 43 further individuals have tested positive for Covid-19, bringing the number of positive cases in Northern Ireland to 6,049.

A total of 118 people have been given positive results for Coronavirus in the past seven days.

The Newry, Mourne and Down area has seen the largest increase in positive infections in the past seven days, with 38 people contracting the virus.

Belfast has had the highest number of positive cases with 1,444.Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon has seen 764 positive test results followed by Lisburn and Castlereagh with 533.

The death toll shown by the Department currently stands at 556, 162 of these in the Belfast area.

The DoH says that 333 of the deaths have happened in a hospital setting, 187 in residential/care homes, 21 in the community and a further 15 are not recorded.

372 deaths have been those aged 80 or over, 159 deaths in the age group 60 to 79, 23 in the group 40 to 59, one aged between 20 to 39 and one death unknown.

1,509 patients have been discharged from hospital after being admitted with the virus.

DoH figures today shows there are two Covid-19 confirmed patients in hospital.

150,953 tests have been carried out with 6,049 people testing positive since the outbreak began.
