Coronavirus Northern Ireland: Full breakdown shows 20 new positive cases in last 24 hours

No further Coronavirus deaths have been recorded in the Department of Health's latest figures.

Stats released today show that an additional 20 individuals have tested positive for the virus, bringing the number of positive cases in Northern Ireland to 6,576.

Of that number, a total of 262 people been diagnosed with Covid-19 in the past seven days.

The Department's daily dashboard update shows there have been no further deaths in the last 24 hour reporting period.

Ten Covid-19 confirmed patients are now being treated in hospitals across Northern Ireland for the condition and none are in intensive care according to the latest data.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,524 patients have been discharged from hospital following admission for treatment of the virus since the pandemic began.

In relation to new cases, the Belfast area has seen the largest increase in positive infections in the past seven days, with 77 more people contracting the virus.

The city has also had the highest number of positive cases in total with 1,576. Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon has had the second highest number with 783 positive tests followed by Lisburn and Castlereagh with 572.

The death toll recorded by the Department currently stands at 559, with the loss of 162 people in the Belfast area.

Care Home outbreaks of the virus have now reached 193, with nine confirmed and six suspected currently ongoing. A total of 178 care home outbreaks have been closed.
