Coronavirus Northern Ireland: Full breakdown of Wednesday's Covid-19 figures

There has been one further Coronavirus death reported by the Department of Health in the past 24 hours.

Figures released today, Wednesday October 7, show 828 more people have tested positive for Covid-19 in this reporting period.

This increase brings the number of positive cases of the virus in Northern Ireland to 16,187.

A total of 4,417 people have been given positive results for Coronavirus in the last seven days.

Figures also indicate 6,003 tests have been carried out in the last 24 hours.

The Department's daily dashboard update shows 586 people have passed away since the start of the pandemic here after testing positive for the virus.

There are currently 106 Covid-19 confirmed patients in hospitals across Northern Ireland and fourteen in intensive care.

A total of 1,808 patients have been discharged from hospital care after being admitted with the virus.

The Belfast area has seen the largest increase in positive infections in the past seven days, with 1,084 people contracting the virus.

Belfast has also had the highest number of positive cases since the outbreak began with 4,015.

Derry City and Strabane has seen 2,010 positive test results, followed by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon with 1,629.

A total of 382,841 tests have been carried out with 16,187 people testing positive since the outbreak began.
