Coronavirus Northern Ireland: Full breakdown of Thursday's Covid-19 figures

One further Coronavirus death has been reported by the Department of Health in the past 24 hours.

Figures released today, Thursday, October 8, show 923 more people have tested positive for Covid-19 in this reporting period.

The rise brings the number of positive cases in Northern Ireland to 17,110.

A total of 4,674 people have been given positive results for Coronavirus in the last seven days.

Figures also indicate 9,931 tests have been carried out in the last 24 hours.

The Department's daily dashboard update shows 587 people have passed away since the start of the pandemic here after testing positive for the virus.

There are currently 120 Covid-19 confirmed patients in hospitals across Northern Ireland and 15 in intensive care.

A total of 1,824 patients have been discharged from hospital care after being admitted with the virus.

The Belfast area has seen the largest increase in positive infections in the past seven days, with 1,084 people contracting the virus.

Belfast has also had the highest number of positive cases since the outbreak began with 4,217.

A total of 2,245 have tested positive in Derry City and Strabane, followed by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon with 1,685.

388,624 people have so far been tested for the virus in Northern Ireland with 17,110 testing positive since the outbreak began.
