Coronavirus Northern Ireland: Full breakdown of latest Covid-19 figures

There have been no further Coronavirus deaths reported by the Department of Health.

Figures released today, Thursday September 17, show 149 more people have tested positive for Covid-19 since yesterday.

This brings the number of positive cases in Northern Ireland to 8,780.

A total of 689 people have been given positive results for Coronavirus in the past seven days.

Figures also indicate 4,917 tests have been carried out in the last 24 hours.

The Department's daily dashboard update shows 573 people have passed away since the start of the pandemic here after testing positive for the virus.

There are currently 21 Covid-19 confirmed patients in hospital across Northern Ireland and four in intensive care.

A total of 1,601 patients have been discharged from hospital after being admitted with the virus.

The Belfast area has seen the largest increase in positive infections in the past seven days, with 176 people contracting the virus.

Belfast has also had the highest number of positive cases since the outbreak began with 2,205. Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon has seen 1,090 positive test results followed by Mid and East Antrim with and Lisburn and Castlereagh, both with 787.

The death toll shown by the Department currently stands at 573, of which 164 have been in the Belfast area.

A total of 299,431 tests have been carried out with 8,780 people testing positive since the outbreak began.
