Coronavirus Northern Ireland: Full breakdown of cases across the country

Northern Ireland has 2,338 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, according to the latest report from the Public Health Agency.

Sadly, a further 18 people have lost their lives to the virus in the last 24 hours, equalling yesterdays highest daily death toll which was also 18, bringing the overall number of deaths to 176.

A total of 15,025 people here have now been tested for the virus, 810 of those tests were carried out in the last 24 hours including 11 at SSE Arena testing centre and 14 at City of Derry Rugby testing facility.

A further 137 people here have tested positive for the virus since yesterday.

When broken down by geographical area, Belfast remains the highest with 719 confirmed cases, Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon have the next highest total with 269.

Fermanagh and Omagh have the lowest number of confirmed cases to date and the only council area in the country still in double figures with 61 confirmed cases.

Of the 2,338 positive cases of Covid-19 in Northern Ireland to date, 1,357 of those have been female and 980 have been male.

The highest number of cases (856) have been aged between 45-69, 760 aged 0-44 and 722 cases aged 70+.

Meanwhile, figures released earlier today by the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency show that there were 39 more deaths linked to Coronavirus as of April 15 than previously officially acknowledged.

The new NISRA figures have compiled deaths where Covid-19 is “mentioned” on paperwork related to the registration of a death. Within the total number of deaths most (109) occurred in hospitals, however 41 or 26% occurred in care homes or hospices and seven occurred in private residential addresses.
