Coronavirus Northern Ireland full breakdown as confirmed cases reach 2,201

The number of Northern Ireland people now confirmed to have Covid-19 has reached 2,201.

An additional 18 people who had the virus have also died, bringing the total number who have died in our hospitals after contracting it to 158.

In the last full week of NI death statistics available - 55 were linked to the virus on death certificates but just 35 were included in daily public health briefings.

This is to change tomorrow, when the weekly death figures will outline the number of Coronavirus deaths in hospitals as well as community settings.

The Belfast Trust has carried out the most Covid-19 tests at 5,061. At the other end of the scale is the Western Trust on 1,713 - which covers the city of Derry.

The total number of people who have now been swabbed for the contagious disease has reached 14,240 - including tests done by Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.

That figure also includes results from GPs, hospices and pathology services.

A result could not be determined in 56 cases, while 11,983 were not infected.

A total of 158 people have died after being infected with Coronavirus in Northern Ireland. Health chiefs say they have data for 157.

Of those people, 44% were female and 56% male. The median age was 81 years old.

A higher number of women are now confirmed to have the virus than men, at 57% female and 42% male. The 45-69 age group still has the highest number of confirmed cases at 818 (37%).

A total of 715 people up to the age of 44 also have the disease, which is 32% of all confirmed cases and 668 people aged 70 and over also tested positive for Covid-19 (30%).
