Coronavirus Northern Ireland: Department of Health reports no further Covid-19 related deaths

There have been no coronavirus related deaths reported in Northern Ireland in the last day.

Latest figures from the Department of Health's daily dashboard showed the death toll to stand at 2,103.

And Saturday's update also reported that over the last 24 hours, there have been a further 159 positive cases of Covid-19 detected.

The total number of cases of the virus, according to the Department, is 115,807.

Over the last seven days, the dashboard reports 1,085 positive cases of the virus in Northern Ireland.

On Saturday morning, there were 156 Covid-19 inpatients, with 18 coronavirus patients in ICU.

Meanwhile, Stormont's Health Minister urged continued vigilance in the battle against Covid-19 yesterday as he reflected on the first anniversary of the first coronavirus death in Northern Ireland.

Robin Swann insisted better days were to come but warned of the threat still posed by the virus.

The Covid-linked death of an older man with an underlying health condition was reported on March 19, 2020.

The fatality was announced three weeks after the first confirmed case of the disease was reported in the region.
