Coronavirus Northern Ireland: Department of Health reports no Covid-19 deaths in last 24 hours

There has been no further coronavirus related deaths in Northern Ireland in the last 24 hours, it's been reported.

According to the Department of Health's latest dashboard update on Monday afternoon, two deaths outside of this reporting period have occurred.

This brings the total Covid-19 death toll to 2,077 as of March 8, 2021, the DoH says.

And a daily increase in positive cases of the virus by 144 was recorded today.

The total number of individuals who have tested positive for the virus since the beginning of the pandemic is 113,789.

Over the last seven days, a total of 1,224 individuals tested positive for Covid-19, the Department's dashboard notes.

There are currently 35 patients with confirmed coronavirus in ICU and 220 Covid-19 inpatients in Northern Ireland.

Meanwhile, on Monday, a range of restrictions were eased slightly.

Preschools and nurseries and children in years Primary 1 to Primary 3 made a return to face-to-face learning.

Ten people from two households are now allowed to gather outdoors in public spaces and shops and businesses selling certain items reopened their doors for click-and-collect services.
