Coronavirus Northern Ireland: Department of Health reports five further deaths and 727 new cases

The Department of Health has today reported a further five coronavirus related deaths.

This increase brings the total number of deaths in Northern Ireland to 658.

The five deaths reported this afternoon occurred over the last 24 hours, according to the Department's breakdown.

And Monday's dashboard update also shows that in the last 24 hours, there has been 727 more cases of the virus reported.

In the last seven days, a total of 6,828 individuals have tested positive for the virus.

The total number of positive cases in Northern Ireland stands at 34,832.

There are 39 coronavirus patients in ICU as of Monday October 26, according to the Department of Health.

Meanwhile, the South Eastern Trust has confirmed that two patients and seven members of staff have tested positive for Covid-19 on a ward in the Ulster Hospital.

The Trust has confirmed the outbreak on Ward 16, saying that nine other patients are self-isolating and the ward has been closed to visitors.
