Coronavirus Northern Ireland: Department of Health reports 15 further deaths and 528 new cases

The Department of Health has reported a further 15 coronavirus related deaths.

Saturday's dashboard update shows the death toll in Northern Ireland now stands at 774.

And in the last 24 hours, a total of 528 new positive cases have been reported.

This rise brings the total number of cases here since the beginning of the pandemic to 42,497.

The Department's figures also show that in the last seven days, 4,007 individuals have tested positive for Covid-19.

As of this morning, there are 53 coronavirus patients in ICU.

Meanwhile, a school in Derry has closed for two weeks after an outbreak of Covid-19 cases.

It comes after Health Minister Robin Swann warned that “winter will undoubtedly be a tough slog” as he hinted at the need for further restrictions.

Current restrictions are set to end in Northern Ireland on November 13.
