Coronavirus Northern Ireland deaths reach 78

The number of people who have died in Northern Ireland after contracting Coronavirus has now reached 78.

Latest figures from the Public Health Agency, accurate at 11.15am today, also show a rise in cases of 84.

A total of 1,339 patients are now confirmed to have the infectious disease.

An additional 406 tests have also been carried out since yesterday.

The sickest patients are now being treated in the intensive care unit at the region's Nightingale Hospital in Belfast City Hospital tower.

Of 77 deaths with data, the median age was 80-years-old of which 39 (51%) were female and 38 (49%) were male.
