Coronavirus Northern Ireland deaths reach 10

A total of 10 people have now died after contracting Coronavirus in Northern Ireland.

Health chiefs said they are stepping up preparations to deal with the expected surge of patients sick with the contagious disease.

A total number of 241 have now been confirmed to have the infection following 3475 tests, with 32 new positive cases diagnosed after 344 new tests since yesterday.

The data is accurate as of 11.45am this morning.

Hospitals are rearranging their services, while visits to wards have been banned in all but exceptional services.

The latest Public Health Agency briefing reads: "As of 11:45am on Thursday 26 March, testing has resulted in 32 new positive cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Northern Ireland to 241.


"To date, ten people who tested positive have sadly died."
