Coronavirus Northern Ireland: Breakdown of recent Department of Health figures

There have been no further deaths relating to Coronavirus in Northern Ireland in the last 24 hours, reports the Department of Health.

According to the Department's daily dashboard update on Saturday, there has been a total of 568 deaths here since the beginning of the pandemic.

The majority of these deaths (162) have occured in the Belfast area.

And in terms of positive tests, the dashboard shows an increase in cases by 104 in the last 24 hour reporting period, bringing the total number of cases of the virus in Northern Ireland to 8,227.

In the last week, 554 individuals have tested positive across the different government district areas - Belfast (161), Antrim and Newtownabbey (84), Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon (74), Lisburn and Castlereagh (67), Newry, Mourne and Down (42), Mid and East Antrim (34), Ards and North Down (22), Derry City and Strabane (19), Mid Ulster (17), Causeway Coast and Glens (13), Fermanagh and Omagh (12) and nine cases under the 'Not Known' category.

Of the 554 positive cases recorded between September 4 and September 11, there were 114 individuals aged between 0-19 tested positive. The Department also shows 237 positive cases in the 20-39 age category.

With regards to hospital admissions, for those who have a confirmed positive case of Coronavirus, there are 17 inpatients at present. And 1,587 individuals have been discharged from hospital care after testing positive for the virus, say the DoH.

One ICU bed is currently occupied by a patient with confirmed Covid-19.

The Department have recorded that 278,893 individuals have been tested for the virus since the beginning of the pandemic.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 5,199 individuals were tested .
