Coronavirus Northern Ireland: Breakdown of most recent figures from Department of Health

505 people have sadly died in Northern Ireland after testing positive for Covid-19, it was announced this afternoon.

Figures from the Department of Health on Saturday showed that a patient aged 80 and over is the most recent victim of the virus.

243 females and 261 males have now died after contracting Coronavirus - while the Department say the gender of one victim is unknown.

The new data indicates that the latest fatality was recorded in the Lisburn and Castlereagh council district.

Meanwhile the Belfast district has had the most recorded deaths, at 156.

There are currently 568 inpatients across hospitals in Northern Ireland - a decrease in 47 when compared with yesterday's data.

119 of these inpatients are confirmed to have Covid-19, and 449 patients are suspected to have the virus.

There are 10 people in ICU with confirmed or suspected Coronavirus, the Department said, while a total of 5,521 patients with suspected or confirmed Covid-19 have so far been discharged from hospital care.

The 41 latest positive cases of the disease were recorded in: Antrim and Newtownabbey (5), Ards and North Down (2), Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon (6), Belfast (2), Causeway Coast and Glens (6), Derry City and Strabane (1), Fermanagh and Omagh (1), Lisburn and Castlereagh (4), Mid and East Antrim (2), Mid Ulster (2), Newry, Mourne and Down (7) and three cases were recorded as Not Known.

44,915 individuals have been tested for Coronavirus - 4,545 of those have returned positive.
