More than 50 care homes for the elderly and infirm in Northern Ireland have reported they have clients with Covid-19 to the PHA.
The figures were released yesterday by the Department of Health.
To date 118 people aged 80 and over have died as a result of contacting Coronavirus.
A further 71 people aged 60 to 79 with the illness have also died.
And 10 patients aged 40 to 59 have succumbed to the infection since March 20.
The highest number of people - 840 - to test positive for Covid-19 are aged 40 to 59 and 610 are aged 20 to 39.
In the 60-79 age group, 490 people have tested positive and a further 421 who are aged 80 and over.
An other 52 people aged 0 to 19 have also presented positive tests.
Every local government district across NI has suffered at least six Covid-19 deaths and Belfast has lost 54 people to the disease.
More men than women in Northern Ireland have died from Covid-19 with 109 males and 84 females despite the fact many more woman have contracted the infection.
According to the Department of Health figures released on Sunday, 1,525 women have tested positive compared to 1,070 men.
The DoH also reported that across Northern Ireland there are 3,657 hospital beds 1,990 which are occupied and a further 1,667 available - with an occupancy rate of almost 55%.
A total of 119 regular ICU beds are available with 78 occupied and 41 available to take a patient, and there are a further 36 dedicated Covid-19 beds in the country.
To date, 2,307 people who have been treated in hospital for Coronavirus have been discharged to continue their recovery at home.
