Coronavirus Northern Ireland: 164 new Covid-19 cases in past 24 hours as death toll reaches 2,100

There has been one further Covid-19 related death reported according to the Department of Health.

The Department's daily dashboard says there has been one further death recorded in the past 24 hours bringing the Northern Ireland death toll from the virus to 2,100.

There have also been 164 new positive cases in the past day and 1,208 in the past seven days.

Belfast has had the highest number of new cases in the past 24 hours with 30, followed by Antrim and Newtownabbey and Mid Ulster with 17 each. Fermanagh and Omagh has had the lowest number of cases with 5.

Belfast has also had the most cases in the past week with 236, followed by Mid Ulster with 126 and Mid and East Antrim with 113.

There are currently 176 inpatients in hospital with the virus, with 162 being admitted in the past 14 days. During the same period 318 patients have been discharged.

There are 18 patients in intensive care with Covid-19 and 14 of these are using ventilators.

In Northern Irish care and residential homes there are 13 confirmed Covid-19 outbreaks.

To date, 115,118 individuals have tested positive for the coronavirus since the start of the pandemic.
