Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has today announced that it is inevitable that schools and nurseries will be closed - most likely at the end of this week.
In her daily coronavirus briefing today the First Minister that the decision had come from the fact that due to self-isolation in households, too many staff and students are absent for many educational facilities to continue.
The First Minister added that she expected ongoing new advice from scientists would tell the Government to close schools.
She added that she couldn't guarantee that schools will reopen before summer break.
