Coronavirus NI: Full breakdown shows 10 new positive cases in past 24 hours

There have been no further Coronavirus deaths reported in the last 24 hours according to the Department of Health.

Figures released today, Monday August 24, show 10 further individuals have tested positive for Covid-19 since yesterday.

This brings the number of positive cases in Northern Ireland to 6,776.

And a total of 359 people have been given positive results for Coronavirus in the past seven days.

Figures also indicate 1,765 tests have been carried out in the last 24 hours.

The Department's daily dashboard update shows there have been no further deaths reported in the past 24 hours reporting period, with 559 people having passed away since the start of the pandemic here after testing positive for the virus.

DoH figures show there are currently nine Covid-19 confirmed patients in hospital across Northern Ireland and one in intensive care.

A total of 1,526 patients have been discharged from hospital after being admitted with the virus.

The Mid and East Antrim area has seen the largest increase in positive infections in the past seven days, with 95 people contracting the virus.

Belfast has had the highest number of positive cases with 1,609. Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon has seen 791 positive test results followed by Mid and East Antrim with 617.

The death toll shown by the Department currently stands at 559, 162 of these in the Belfast area.

A total of 201,541 tests have been carried out with 6,776 people testing positive since the outbreak began.
