Coronavirus NI: Four deaths and over 1,300 new cases in 24 hours

The Department of Health has reported a further four coronavirus related deaths in Northern Ireland.

A further 1,349 new positive cases of the virus were recorded by the Department on Friday.

And 2,569,617 Covid-19 vaccines have been administered in total across Northern Ireland.

Meanwhile, a further 30 deaths linked to Covid-19 have been recorded in Northern Ireland in the latest weekly update.

The Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (Nisra) collated the number of fatalities in the week from October 2 to October 8.

They take the total number of coronavirus-linked deaths recorded by Nisra to 3,512, higher than the 2,585 reported by the Department of Health to the same date.

The Nisra figure is drawn from different data sources and is always higher than the department’s total as it provides a broader picture of the impact of Covid-19.
