Coronavirus NI deaths and cases broken down by council area

Northern Ireland sadly recorded a further five Coronavirus related deaths today, bringing the overall death toll here now to 494.

The latest report from the Department of Health indicates that four people passed away due to Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, while one other death occurred earlier in the week but has only just been reported.

According to the report, all five people who died were aged 80 and over.

The latest fatalities were recorded in: Belfast (2), Antrim and Newtownabbe y (1), Mid Ulster (1) and one death was recorded as Not Known.

At present there are 669 inpatients in 19 hospitals across Northern Ireland - an increase of nine inpatients since yesterday.

18 patients remain in ICU beds here with confirmed or suspected Covid-19.

A further 18 people have tested positive for Coronavirus in the last 24 hours in Northern Ireland with a further 890 individuals tested for the virus.

In addition, 740 samples were also taken at National Testing Centres here including SSE Arena and Craigavon Test Centre.

The latest 18 positive cases were recorded in: Ards and North Down (2), Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon (1), Belfast (4), Causeway Coast & Glens (3), Lisburn and Castlereagh (3), Mid Ulster (1), Newry, Mourne and Down (1), three cases were also recorded as Not Known.

To date, Northern Ireland has recorded 4,439 positive cases of Coronavirus.
