Two neighbouring streets based near Southmead Hospital have represented the nation's mixed attitudes to coronavirus with their different approaches to parking.
While one homeowner on Alderton Road has tried to stop people using a public parking space, another resident on nearby Grittleton Road has offered NHS workers a space on their private drive.
Gary Millard, who works in the hospital's training team, said he was left 'annoyed' and 'sad' when he spotted the cones at a time when thousands of employees were going to work every day to risk their own health to save others.
But the 56-year-old said his 'faith in humanity' was restored when a note left was left on the adjourning road the following day.
"It made me really sad, " said Gary. "Given the current climate and how hard everyone is working it did make me really annoyed.
"This is quite an affluent road and it's used by NHS workers who mainly can't afford to pay for parking.

"People park outside my house and I accept it.
"If you tax and insure your car and do not park illegally you should be able to park anywhere. When returning to my car this afternoon, another resident close by had put a sign up inviting NHS staff to park in their driveway.
"That reaffirmed my faith in human nature."
After seeing the cones were still on the road some five days after the person first put them out, Gary phoned police for advice.
He said: "I spoke to the police and was informed that I was quite within my rights to remove the cones and park my car, further to this they could also impose a fine of one hundred pounds."
