Global coronavirus cases are close to passing the one million mark as the UK’s Ministry of Defence said it would mobilise 3,000 reservists as part of its response to the outbreak.
Over 935,000 people have been infected with Covid-19, according to Johns Hopkins University, and more than 47,000 have died, while nearly 194,000 have recovered.
Patients in the UK could have their treatment withdrawn and offered to others with a higher chance of survival, the British Medical Association’s (BMA) latest ethical advice for doctors has warned.
It comes after the UK saw its biggest day-on-day increase in deaths so far, with the government under increasing pressure over its testing policy.
