The ninth case of coronavirus has been diagnosed in the UK.
Chief medical officer Chris Whitty said the virus was passed on in China. It is understood the patient was diagnosed in London, the first such case in the capital.
It comes as the quarantine of 83 people being held in Arrowe Park Hospital in Wirral, Merseyside, is expected to be lifted on Thursday.
They have all reportedly tested negative for the covid-19 strain of the coronavirus. Two prisoners being held at HMP Bullingdon in Oxfordshire have also tested negative.
