Coronavirus updates LIVE: Fourteen tested in UK as professor says 'many more cases likely'

Fourteen people have been tested for suspected coronavirus in the UK, officials have said.

The head of infection medicine at the University of Edinburgh Professor Jurgen Haas said he believes there will be many more cases from other cities in the UK.

Five of the cases are in Scotland and the other is in Belfast, Northern Ireland, it emerged on Thursday.

Tests are currently being carried out and none of the patients have been confirmed as having the disease.
