Coronavirus: Neil Diamond and Liam Gallagher share clean versions of their hit songs to promote good COVID-19 hygiene

Neil Diamond and Liam Gallagher are some of the celebrities who have changed their most famous hits to help spread the message of good hygiene.

American singer Neil, 79, changed some of the lyrics of Sweet Caroline to: “Hands, washing hands, reaching out, don’t touch me, I won’t touch you.”

He added: “I know we’re going through a rough time right now, but I love ya.

“I think if we sing together we might just feel a little bit better. Give it a try.”

The video amassed 400,000 views in just a few hours.

Unsurprisingly the song provoked a huge reaction on social media, with one fan writing: “This will keep the nation going, I joined in singing all the bits in between!”

Former Oasis star Liam Gallagher also got in on the act.

The frontman changed the band’s songs Wonderwall, Champagne Supernova and Supersonic, to Wonderwash, Champagne Soapernova and Soapersonic.
