A creative mum has invented a fun Nerf gun spelling game to keep her kids busy in lockdown.
Erin Blake came up with the 'Nerf Phonics' idea whilst trying to homeschool her children during the coronavirus pandemic.
The mum-of-three was determined to make learning more fun so when her children were playing target practice with their Nerf guns, she decided to make it educational.

Erin stuck paper targets on a wall, each now with a letter or phonetic sound on, then set her two oldest children, Emily, seven and four-year-old Charlie, the task of shooting the sound, while littlest brother James, two, looked on.
She said: "I have two very lively boys, aged two and four, as well as a seven-year-old daughter.

"I’m not really sure where the idea came from, other than my four-year-old was playing with his Nerf gun and trying to hit a target so I thought I could introduce some targets for him while entertaining and benefiting all three children."
Erin, from Devon, filmed her children playing the game and shared it on Facebook, racking up almost 3,000 views and more than 1,000 comments.
